  15. How do I know this is a genuine fundraising activity?
  16. Who do I contact to get hold of a video or dvd of the 1 hr tv programme about Terri called 'Being Terri'?
  17. Where can I find out more about Terri?
  1. What format should the swim take?
You decide. Sat 6th Dec if possible. Some link to 35km if possible.

  2. Are there any requirements for the number of swimmers that take part?
    No.

  3. Must the swim take place on Saturday 6th December?
If can, but not critical. If option is no swim or swim on different day, swim on different day.

  4. Do we have to swim 35kms?
No. If you can, collectively, terrific. But if the group of swimmers participating in a swim would find that just too far, better a swim of half the distance etc than no swim at all. So it is up to you how far you swim.

  5. How much money must I raise?
    It doesn't matter.

  6. How is the money collected and sent to the Trust?
Swimmers collect cheques, send to the main organiser of the individual swim, who then sends all the collected cheques DIRECTLY to Terri's Trust. Cheques payable to: The Terri Cavesbert Appeal.
You just then let me know how much money you raised.

  7. How should I raise sponsorship?
Email is most efficient. Don't email thousands. Email close friends. A sponsorship form is available for children. I will email the sponsorship form to those that contact me and let me know they will be organising a Swim For Terri. The sponsorship form is not available on the website for security reasons.

  8. Do I need a sponsorship form?
No. Children probably want one as it is fun to see names fill up. Contact me and I will email one to you.

  9. What do you suggest children set as the per m/100m/km sponsorship amount?
You decide. Perhaps work backwards from what someone will swim and what a reasonable amount would be to ask a sponsor to give.

  10. Where are swims taking place?
See the world map on the site.

  11. Is there a target for the number of swims and/or money raised?
    No.

  12. How much money will this all raise?
No idea. A lot I hope.
The total amount raised will be posted on the site.

  13. Can I suggest to others I know who swim they organise a swim where they live?
PLEASE DO. And get them to contact me so we log where swims are happening. We don't yet have a Swim For Terri in the following countries. Perhaps someone you know can help.

  14. Where did the idea of a fundraising Swim For Terri come from?
Rob Mather, who is a very average swimmer of no note. In short: moved by the programme 'Being Terri', very good cause, managed to get three swims going internationally with three telephone calls; why not a vast number more? And it'll show the power of swimmers acting collectively around the planet. And rather nice to have people doing something for a little girl thousands of miles away from where they live. Local charities (where fundraisers live) won't be adversely affected as for each fundraiser this is just one event in a year where they raise a little bit of money from their friends.

  15. How do I know this is a genuine fundraising activity?
    1.  All the links below to webpages (and there are many others) show Terri exists.
    2.  You send the money your swim raises directly to Terri's Trust, managed by the local Ipswich newspaper The Evening Star. They can be contacted directly:
